Forty-percent glass-filled PPS for the hottest electrical hardware in the vehicle. PPS is specified when a polyamide will not hold up thermally or chemically — it is the step change in capability above PA and PBT, at a step change in cost.

Halogen-free flame-retardant 30% glass-filled PA66 for electrical parts that must both carry load and meet a flammability requirement. Specify the flammability rating from the producer datasheet — ratings are thickness-qualified and are not asserted here.

PC-ABS blend balancing the impact strength of polycarbonate with the processability and cost of ABS. Widely specified for automotive interior trim and consumer electronics enclosures.

High-flow PC/ABS for cosmetic interior parts. The high-flow characteristic is the point: it is chosen when a visible part has thin walls or long flow paths and the tool cannot tolerate the pressure a standard blend requires.

PC/PBT blend used where a part must absorb energy and tolerate fuel, oil and road salt. The PBT contribution is chemical resistance, which is why it appears on exterior energy-management parts rather than interior trim.

Heat-stabilized 30% glass-filled PA6 for parts that sit at sustained elevated temperature rather than seeing a single thermal spike. The heat stabilization is the reason to pick it over a standard BKV 30.

Thirty-percent glass-filled PA66 and one of the industry reference grades for stiff, dimensionally stable under-hood parts. Chosen where a metal bracket or housing is being converted to plastic and the part has to hold tolerance at elevated temperature.

Twenty percent talc-filled polypropylene compound engineered for automotive interior and under-hood parts. Talc raises stiffness and heat resistance while keeping part weight and cost low.

Thermoplastic polyolefin compound developed for large exterior body panels. The reason it appears on bumper programs is the balance of low-temperature impact and flow at the wall thicknesses a fascia tool needs.

Long-glass-fibre polypropylene for semi-structural modules. The long fibre architecture is what distinguishes it from a short-glass compound: it is specified where a part must carry load at low mass rather than merely hold shape.

Polypropylene compound containing mechanically recycled post-consumer content, from the producer circular-polymer portfolio. Targeted at interior and under-bonnet parts where recycled content is a programme requirement and the part is not cosmetically critical.

Mass-balance version of the A3WG6 glass-filled PA66, where fossil feedstock is substituted with chemically recycled material and allocated by certified mass balance. Drop-in equivalent to the conventional grade, so it carries a programme CO2 story without requalifying the part.

Polyether-based TPU for flexible parts that take repeated mechanical abuse. TPU is specified over TPV where abrasion and tear resistance matter more than compression set — protective boots and bellows rather than static seals.

Thermoplastic vulcanizate for weather sealing. TPV is chosen over a styrenic TPE when the seal has to survive years of UV and ozone exposure without hardening, and over EPDM rubber when the part needs to be injection moulded rather than extruded and cured.
